Ingredients
  

For the Pastry

  • 1 package Puff Pastry Use Pepperidge Farm for best results.
  • 1 spray Canola Oil Spray Prevents sticking to pie tins.

For the Filling

  • 30 oz Irish Stew Drain excess liquid.
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder Enhances flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon Salt Maldon preferred.
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper Adjust to preference.

For the Egg Wash

  • 1 large Egg Beaten with 2 teaspoon water.

For the Garnish

  • 3 tablespoon Black Sesame Seeds Can be swapped with poppy seeds.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Drain the Irish stew through a fine-mesh strainer to remove excess liquid.
  • Whisk together the egg with water and mix salt, pepper, and garlic powder in another bowl.
  • Lightly spray pie tins with canola oil. Let puff pastry soften at room temperature.
  • Cut puff pastry into circles for bases and lids, placing the base circles into the tins.
  • Fill each tin halfway with the drained stew and brush pastry edges with egg wash to seal.
  • Place pastry lids on top of filled tins and crimp edges securely with a fork.
  • Brush tops with egg wash, sprinkle black sesame seeds, and cut slits for steam to escape.
  • Bake for about 40 minutes, or until pastry is puffed and golden brown.
