Ingredients
  

Cocoa Mixture

  • 1 cup Milk Any milk variety works as a substitute.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Coconut cream is a great alternative for dairy-free.
  • ½ cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder Dutch-process cocoa can be used for a milder taste.
  • ½ cup Granulated Sugar Coconut sugar is a less refined option.
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract No substitute needed.
  • 1 pinch Salt No substitute needed.

Coffee Mixture

  • 1 cup Strong Brewed Coffee Ensure it's cooled before use.
  • ¼ cup Coffee Liqueur Omit for a kid-friendly version.

Tiramisu Layers

  • 24 pieces Ladyfinger Cookies Substitute with chocolate wafers if desired.
  • 8 oz Mascarpone Cheese Mix with cream cheese and sour cream if unavailable.
  • ¼ cup Powdered Sugar No substitute needed.
  • 2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder For dusting.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine milk, heavy cream, unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth and well-blended.
  • Brew a strong cup of coffee and allow it to cool completely. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until creamy. Gradually fold in whipped heavy cream, powdered sugar, and a splash of vanilla extract until fluffy.
  • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture. Lay them in a dish, then add a layer of the cocoa mixture followed by a layer of mascarpone filling. Repeat until all components are used.
  • Cover the assembled Tiramisu and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, you can use coconut cream and substitute the mascarpone cheese as needed.
