Ingredients
  

For the Fish

  • 1 pound White Fish Fillets Substitutions like cod or mahi-mahi work beautifully.
  • 1 cup Buttermilk Combine 1 cup milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar as alternative.
  • 1 cup Cornmeal Or Panko Breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • Oil for frying Necessary for frying the fish.

For the Bowls

  • 2 cups Cooked Rice Use white or brown rice.
  • 1 can Black Beans
  • 1 cup Corn Canned or frozen.
  • 1 cup Cherry Tomatoes Halved for easy eating.
  • 1 each Avocado Sliced.
  • 1 cup Shredded Lettuce Or Cabbage.
  • ¼ cup Fresh Cilantro For garnish.
  • 2 each Lime Wedges For serving.

For the Sauce

  • ½ cup Sour Cream Or Greek Yogurt.
  • 2 tablespoons Lime Juice Adjust to taste.
  • Hot Sauce Optional, add for a spicy kick.

Cooking Instructions

  • Soak the white fish fillets in buttermilk for about 10 minutes.
  • Dredge the soaked fish fillets in a mixture of cornmeal, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the coated fish until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Combine sour cream, lime juice, and hot sauce in a bowl until smooth.
  • Layer cooked rice, black beans, corn, cherry tomatoes, avocado, and shredded lettuce in each bowl, topped with crispy fish.
  • Drizzle the sauce over each bowl, garnish with cilantro, and serve with lime wedges.
