Ground Beef Mixture
- 1.5 pounds ground beef preferably ground chuck
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 small onion thinly sliced
- 10.5 ounces French onion condensed soup undiluted
- 0.87 ounce brown gravy mix 1 packet
- 0.5 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Cooking Instructions
Crumble the ground beef into a large bowl and sprinkle with the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and ground mustard. Blend well. Divide the mixture into 4 equal amounts and form them into patties.
Place a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the steaks in the skillet and cook without flipping for about 4 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 4 minutes. Remove from the pan and allow to rest on paper towels.
Drain all but about 2 tablespoons of grease from the pan. Add the sliced onions and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add the onion soup, gravy mix, and water, stir well, and bring to boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, stir in the Worcestershire sauce, and return the hamburger steaks to the pan, cooking until done to your liking.
