  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter cold, diced
  • ¾ cup milk whole

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add diced butter into the flour mixture and cut it in with a pastry cutter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Pour in the milk and stir gently until just combined.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times.
  • Pat or roll the dough to ½ inch thickness.
  • Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Gather the scraps and gently re-roll to cut more biscuits.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Biscuits are best served warm and can be complemented with butter or jam.
