Preparation Steps

  • Prepare the Potatoes: Begin by peeling and chopping the potatoes into bite-sized chunks.
  • Boil the Potatoes: Place the chopped potatoes in a large saucepan, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Simmer for about 10 minutes until just tender, then drain.
  • Fry the Potatoes: Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the potatoes until golden and crispy, about 10-12 minutes.
  • Make the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together water, soy sauce, honey, gochujang, rice wine vinegar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and salt.
  • Combine Potatoes and Sauce: Push the crispy potatoes to one side of the pan. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil, then pour in the prepared sauce and bring to a simmer.
  • Coat the Potatoes: Toss the potatoes in the sauce to coat evenly and let them simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve and Garnish: Serve the potatoes immediately, garnished with sesame seeds or chopped scallions.
