Meat
- 1 lb ground beef preferably lean
- 1 oz taco seasoning premium brand
- 1 can diced tomatoes and green chiles 10 oz, undrained
Cheese and Dressing
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese preferably aged for richer flavor
- 8 oz Ranch dressing premium
Tart Shells
- 5 packs frozen phyllo tart shells 15-count per pack
Preparation Steps
Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350ºF.
Cook Beef: In a skillet, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
Add Seasoning: Stir in the taco seasoning, then add the can of diced tomatoes and green chiles. Mix well and simmer for 5 minutes before removing from heat.
Prepare Mixture: In a separate bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar cheese and Ranch dressing. Then, combine this with the cooked taco meat.
Assemble Tarts: Carefully spoon the taco meat mixture into the frozen phyllo tart shells. If you plan to freeze them for later, now is the time to do so.
Bake: Place the filled tarts in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. If baking from frozen, add an extra 2-3 minutes to the bake time to ensure they heat through properly.
